Privacy
Respire is a breathing app. It has no advertising, no analytics, and no interest in you beyond the practice.
The short version. Respire collects nothing, because Respire sends nothing. It has no account, no server, and no networking at all. Everything you practise stays on the device you practised it on. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing ever leaves.
What stays on your device
Respire works fully offline, always. All sixty techniques are built into the app. Held on your device, and nowhere else, are:
- Your sittings — which technique, when you began, how long you sat, how many rounds, and whether you finished.
- Your preferences — the visual register you chose, the last technique you practised, your usual length, and your favourites.
Deleting Respire deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else for us to hold, hand over, or lose.
Apple Health
On iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, Respire can record each sitting as mindful minutes in Apple Health, so your practice appears alongside the rest of your day.
This is optional and asked for once. Health data is governed by Apple and stays under your control on your device — Respire writes to it and reads your mindful-minute total, nothing more. Health data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone. If you decline, everything else in Respire works exactly the same.
Respire does not use Health on Mac or Apple Vision Pro, because Apple Health does not exist on those platforms.
What travels
Nothing. Respire has no networking code in it at all — no account, no server, no sync, no cloud. It cannot send your practice anywhere because there is nowhere for it to send it and no way for it to try.
So there is none of the following: no contact details, no location, no contacts, no photos, no microphone, no camera, no browsing history, no advertising identifier, no device fingerprint, no crash reporting, no usage analytics.
There are also no third-party SDKs in Respire — not one. No analytics library, no advertising library, no attribution library. Nothing in the app is written by anyone but us.
Nothing to opt out of
Most privacy policies end with a way to switch the collecting off. Respire has no such setting, because there is nothing running to switch off. Deleting the app deletes everything it ever held.
Children
Respire is not directed at children under 13. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the CCPA and similar laws you may ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion. In Respire's case the honest answer to all four is the same: we hold nothing about you. There is no account, no record, and no database with your name or your device in it. Should you want to confirm that, write to the address below and we will answer within thirty days.
We do not sell personal information, and never have.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date below changes with it and the new version appears here before it takes effect.
