What it is

A breathing app that asks nothing of you.

No account. No subscription. No sign-in screen, no trial, no locked technique, and nothing held back for later.

Sixty practices

Chosen, not guessed at

Box, 4-7-8, Coherent, Alternate Nostril, Physiological Sigh, Wim Hof, Buteyko, Ocean Breath. Each one carries where it came from, what it is for, and what it actually feels like.

On the wrist

Followed with your eyes closed

The Apple Watch has no continuous haptic, so the breath is carried by the spacing of taps — gathering as you breathe in, spreading apart as you let go. A whole sitting, felt rather than watched.

Nothing leaves

There is no server

Respire has no networking at all. Every sitting stays on the device you practised it on, and goes to Apple Health only if you allow it. Nothing is collected, because nothing is sent.

The library

Sixty practices, and a room for each.

From a single slow exhale to the fierce ones that wake a body up.

What it keeps

A record, never a streak.

Respire writes down what you practised so you can look back. It has no vocabulary for falling behind.

Before you begin

Most of this is gentle. A few are not.

Wim Hof, Cyclic Hyperventilation, Breath of Fire, Skull Shining, Bellows and Inner Fire — and the breath-holding practices such as Control Pause — deliberately change your blood chemistry and can leave you light-headed.

Practise those sitting or lying down. Never in water, never while driving. If you are pregnant, or live with epilepsy, a heart condition, uncontrolled blood pressure, glaucoma or a breathing disorder, speak to your doctor first.

Respire is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. If you feel unwell, stop and breathe normally.
